Derek Clepper, of Boiling Springs, is a lifelong resident of Cumberland County. He and his wife Sara are the parents of four sons, Sam, Jake, Ben, and Daniel.

A 1994 graduate of Boiling Springs High School, he earned his B.A. in Government from The Shippensburg University in 1999. In 2002 he earned his Juris Doctor from The Dickinson School of Law.

Derek started his career as the prosecutor for the Cumberland County Domestic Relations Office. He served as Senior Assistant District Attorney for Cumberland County. He has written safety policies for multiple police departments across the nation. Currently, he is Professor and Director of the Criminal Justice program at The University of Valley Forge. 

His community involvement includes serving on the school board for South Middleton School District. He is a volunteer with the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet where he has earned two gold stars for his service.

An avid runner, he is active in his church, youth sports, student mock trials, and is a passionate scrabble player.
